1.The frequency of the P=O group in organo-phosphorus compounds occurs in the range 1160-1400 cm-1, and that of the P=S group in 540-750 cm-1.The frequencies of these groups are primarily dependent upon the electronegativity of the substituent groups, so that with strongly electronegative substituents the frequencies rise sharply.
