4-Benzeneazophenyl acrylate and methacylate (Ⅰ,Ⅱ),N-4-benzeneazophenyl acrylamide and methacrylamide (Ⅲ,Ⅳ) have been prepared by the reaction of 4-hydroxy-azobenzene and 4-aminoazobenzene with acrylic or methacrylic chloride in the presence of triethylamine.These colored compounds can be homopolymerized and copolymerized with most vinyl monomers such as styrene,methyl methacrylate and acrylonitrile,to give the corresponding colored polymers.
