1.The stationary potentials of zinc electrode in potassium hydroxide solutions (feom 0.2 N to saturated solution) have been measured. When the concentration of potassium hydroxide is greater than 1 N, the φc~logαKOH plot shows a linear relation, the slope of which is found to be -59 mv.2.The anodic polarization curves of zinc electrode in potassium hydroxide solutions (from 1.07 N to 8.31 N) were measured, the linear portions of which have a slope of 40 mv.It has been found that at constant current densities, when the logαKOH changes by one unit, the anodic potential shifts about 80 mv.
