α,ω-Bis-(p-aminophenoxy)-pentane and heptane have been prepared by the condensation of p-nitrophenol with the corresponding α,ω-dibromo-alkanes, and then by reduction respectively, while α,ω-bis-(p-methylaminophenoxy)-pentane and heptane have been condensed similarly, but using p-(N-p-toluenesulfonyl-N-methylamino)-phenol or p-(N-acetyl-N-methylamino)-phenol instead of p-nitrophenol, followed by hydrolysis. These compounds are to be tested for the activity against Schistosomiasis Japonica in experimentally infected animals.
