The selective reduction of CF~2ClCFClCF~2CFCl~2 (1) by (NH~4)~2S~2O~8 / HCOONH~4 and (NH~4)~2S~2O~8 / NaH~2PO~2·H~2O was described. Application of such selective reduction to the synthesis of fluorine-containing inhalation anaesthetics- CHF~2OCF~2CHClF (Enflurane) and CHF~2OCHClCF~3 (Isoflurane) was reported.
