The EI mass spectra of sixty-six new fluorinated liquid crystal compounds, including three types, were studied. The fragmentation mechanism has been discussed. The results may be summarized as follows: for type A , the C---O bond cleavage of centric bridge occurred predominatly leading to formation of the ion which was very easy to lose C~nH~2~n; for type B, the α-cleavage of the centric bridge carbonyl gave the characteristic ion and for type C, they all showed strong molecular ion peaks, the fragmentation pathways of the latter were very simple.
