VB~1~2 model molecule, cyano-N-methyl-3-imidazolyl cobyrinate perchlorat 8 was synthesized from the vitamin B~1~2. 8 was treated with acidic buffers in methanol to give compounds 9 and 10. UV-Vis spectra were determined in buffers of different pH values and equilibrium constants of Co-N bonds were calculated. The strength of coordination valence between the central Co atom of cobyrin ring with the N atom of isolated N-methylimidazole ligand is weaker than that of ligand linked with cobyrin cycle.
