The interaction of DNA with ferroecnyl Schiff base supported by water-soluble polyacrylic acid-co-AT-vinylpyrrolidon and polymethyacrylic acid-co-Af-vinylpyrrolidone was studied by fluorescent probe techniqe and gel electrophoresis analysis. The possible interaction mechanism and binding mode were proposed. The results showed the electrostatically attraction and inlay mode existed in the interaction of the water-soluble polymer-supported ferrocenyl Schiff base with DNA. Owing to the introduction of hydrophilic groups and polymer matrix effect, the activity of the interaction of DNA with the water-soluble polymer-supported ferrocenyl Schiff base became higher than that of the ferrocenyl Schiff base itself.
