Piezoelectricity in polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) was studied. PVDF films were prepared by casting from solvent DMA, and uniaxially stretched. The poling can be performed by a thermal procedure. It was found that the polarization achieved depends on the applied field, the poling temperature and the poling time. The stability of the piezoelectric film and some other characteristics were also investigated.
