Abstract

A new steroid was isolated from the ethyl acetate extract fraction of marine sponge Cinachyrella australiensis collected from the South China Sea. Its structure was determined by IR, ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, MS, DQCOSY, NOESY, TOCSY, HMQC and HMBC as (3E)-cholest-4-en-3,6-dione-3-oxime (1). Bioassay showed that compound 1 was cytotoxic against Hep G2. The spectral data were reported in details in this paper.
