1.西貝素用鋅粉蒸餾及硒脫氫,產物中的鹼性部分得2,5-二甲基吡啶(Ⅱ),中性部分得碳氫化合物C12H14(Ⅲ)及C20H18或C22H20二種.與由貝母素甲用同法處理,所得結果相同.其中C18H14(Ⅲ)已由合成證明為8-甲基-1,2-苯弗.此種碳氫化合物,在天然產物降解中,尚屬首次得到.2.西貝素與貝母素乙均屬於變形(石享)類植物鹼.它們的實驗式及功能團是相同的.它們的紫外吸收光譜,幾乎完全符合,其結構式可能稍有差別,或僅是構型的不同.

The degradation of sipeimine by zinc dust distillation and selenium dehydrogenation gave the same products as those previously obtained[2] from peimine.2,5-Lutidine was found in the alkaline portion and two hydrocarbons,C18H14 and C20H18 or C22H20 Were found in the neutral portion.
