This paper deals with the physical and philosophical concepts of eleotronegativity.Some diagrammatic methods,using the ciharge-radius ratio and electronegativity as parameters,are described.It appears that the electronegativity scale,which often fails when used alone,can be applied to solve some practical problems successfully when it is used in combination with the charge-radius ratio.The relationship of electronegativity scale to the charge-radius ratio and some other parameters describing the radial distribution of inner electrons,such as R₀cov and ρ(r_cov),has been investigated.Some empirical equations are proposed,and the physical meaning of the relationship is discussed.
