全芳香的聚酰亚胺具有优良的综合性能,而其耐热性和耐热氧化性则更为突出,但是这类聚合物中的主要品种,例如由均苯四甲酸二酐与二苯醚二胺所得到的聚酰亚胺,由于没有明显的软化点而不易加工成型.为了改进聚酰亚胺的加工性能,往往在大分子主链中引入醚链.醚链的引入能够增加大分子链的柔性,改善聚合物的加工性能,同时又不致于降低聚合物的耐热性和耐热氧化性,典型的代表是由3、3',4、4'-二苯醚四甲酸二酐及1,4-双(3',4'-二羧基苯氧基)苯二酐分别与4,4'-二苯醚二胺所合成的可熔性聚酰亚胺.这类聚酰亚胺可以方便地模压成型,后者以邻苯二甲酸酐调节分子量后,还可以进行注射和挤塑成型.

The introduotion of the ether linkage into the main chain of an aromatio or hetorooyclic polymer may lead to an increase of the flexibility of the macremcleoule with an improvement of the processability of the polymer without any approciable loss of its thermal and thermal oxidative stability. Since sulfide is analogous to the ether linkage, the replacement of the ether linkage by a sulfide in the main chain may lead to the similar effect. 3, 3', 4, 4'-diphenyl sulfide tetracarboxylic aoid was synthesized by the condensation of N-pheny-4-chlorophthalimide a,nd sodium sulfide in a polar organic solvent and then through the hydrolysis of the product bis (sulfidephthalimide) with sodium hydroxide solution followed by acidification.A moldable poly (sulfide-imide) with excellent physioo-mechanical properties was synthesized from the tetra-acid thus obtained.
