电负性的研究——Ⅰ.原子的电负性

原子电负性的数据大都间接计算而得,目前已有多种经验的或半经验的计算公式.除Pauling[1]、Mulliken[2]、Sandersen[3]以外,其他学者如Gordy[4,5]、Allred[6]、Heкpacoв[7]、刘遵宪[8]、孙承谔[9]、李世瑨[10]、高孝恢[11]等也从不同角度提出若干种计算电负性的方法.迄今为止,由不同方法计算所得的结果,就绝大多数元素而言,都十分接近,但因有关电负性的理论尚未臻十分成熟,从实验测定电负性值仍然有困难,所以还不能作定论.

In this paper, a new electronegativity scale is proposed in terms of the atomic potential X, namely,
X=n/r(1)
where n represents the number of electrons in the valence shell of the atom and r, the covalent radius in Ångströms.The new scale is related to Pauling's electronegativity by the following equation:
X(Pauling)=a(n/r)+b(2)
where a=0.34.b=0.67.The electronegativities of most elements in various valence states have been calcuiated and the values found are close to those obtained by other authors.
