Synthesis and Characterization of Polyacrylates Containing Trifluorovinyl Aryl Ether Side Group

The introduction of trifluorovinyl aryl ether group into polyacrylate was studied. Firstly, a new acrylate monomer containing trifluorovinyl (TFVE) aryl ether side group was synthesized. Homopolymerization and random copolymerization of this monomer were conducted via atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) to get TFVE aryl ether-containing polyacrylates with narrow molecular weight distributions. A series of polyacrylates with different contents of TFVE aryl ether group were obtained by tuning the feeding ratios.
