The structures of the ayclodimerization products of a,β,β-trifiuorostyrene(TFS) have been investigated.The TFS cyclodimers are identical with the thermal cross-oycloadducts of tetrafluoroethylene and 1,2-difluorostilbene.Both components of TFS oyclodimers show difluorostilbene fragments(m/e216) in their mass spectra.Therefore,the structures of the cyclodimers are the 1,2-disubstituted cyclobutanes 1 and 2,i.e.products of the head-to-head oycloaddition.
