In an attempt to examine the influence of structure on the property of a coordination compound, two Schiff base Cu(II) complexes, [Cu(II) (L1)]ClO_4 (1), [Cu(II)_2(L2)(H_2O)_2](BF_4)_2 (2), were prepared and identified by IR, MS and EA, and their structures were determined by X- ray diffraction. The work confirms that both 1 and 2 belong to triclinic system and P1 space group. The cell parameters of 1 are a = 1.1147(6)nm, b = 1.1481 (7)nm, c = 0.770(3)nm; α=98.81(4) °,β=106. 94(4) °,γ= 66.49(4) °; V = 0.8715 (8) nm~3, Z = 2, R = 0.044 and of 2 are a = 1.0819 (4)nm, b = 1.4095 (6) nm, c = 1.0192 (4) nm; α=96.54 (4) °, β = 106.18 (3)°, γ = 80.51(3) °; V = 1.4681 (5) nm~3, Z =2, R = 0.068. Further, the work validates that 1 has a relatively shorter Cu-O(1) distance [0.1880(5)nm] and visible absorption wavelength (λ_ (max) = 557 nm) than 2 [0.1982(6)nm, λ_(max) = 605 nm] that 2 gives two reductions and two oxidations in range of = 0.80 ~-1.20V.
