Coordination chemistry of organometallic polydentate ligand : Formation of binuclear complexes for the stabilization of Carbene-Iron (0) compound

Mononuclear compounds MXn[MXn=HgCl2, HgI2, CdCl2, K2Zn(SCN)4] react with the 1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene complex Fe(Ph2Pyy)2(CO)2[CS2C2(CO2Me)2] to produce the stable binuclear carbene complexes FeM(μ-Ph2PPy)2[CS2C2(CO2Me)2](CO)2X2[Ph2PPy=2- diphenylphosphino pyridine]. These complexes were characterized by IR, ^3^1P NMR and elemental analysis.
