Preparation and Photoelectric Properties of Layered Manganese Oxide/2,2-bipyridine Iron Self-assembled Film

The layered manganese oxide (MnO2)/2,2-bipyridine iron [Fe(bipy)] composite was synthesized by an electrostatic adsorption layer-by-layer self-assembly technique, and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectra and electrochemical measurements. The results showed that Fe(bipy) was uniformly deposited by the layer-by-layer adsorption technique and the photocurrent of self-assembled film was increased under visible light irradiation. This system could degrade 57% of RhB (with concentration of 1×10-5 mol/L) in 80 min, which could achieve a better effect of degradation in short time.
