Preparation of Co3O4 Catalysts by a Solid-state Reaction for Total Oxidation of Toluene

Highly active Co3O4 catalysts(Co3O4-SR)are synthesized by a simple and environmentally friendly solid-state reaction.Compared with Co3O4 made by precipitation and citrate methods,Co3O4-SR catalysts possess lager surface area,smaller particle size,weaker surface Co—O bond and more surface de- fects.Co3O4-SR catalysts exhibit high activity and stability for total oxidation of toluene,with a toluene conversion of 95%at 230℃without any observable trend of deactivation in 60h.
