Abstract

Three new 2-thio-5-(2-hydroxybenzoyl) imidazol derivatives and five new 2-imino-5-(2-hydroxybenzoyl) thiazole derivatives have been synthesized by micheal reaction of the 3-iodo-4-oxo-benzo-4H-pyran with thioureas. The structures of all these prepared compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and ^1H NMR spectra.
