One-Pot Synthesis of Dendrimers via double click reactions

The defect-free dendrimer 4, which contains a hydrophilic periphery with short oligo- (oxyethylene) (OEG) segments, has been synthesized in yield of 75% via combining efficiently Cu(I)-catal- yzed azide/alkyne click chemistry and anthracene/maleimide Diels-Alder cycloaddition reactions in one-pot tech-nique. The structure of the dendrimer was characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry measurements, and the purity was determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC).
