研究了糖炭对于乙酸-丙酸、乙酸-丁酸、丙酸-丁酸三种混合溶液的吸附.虽然各酸的吸附量皆比单独存在时的低,但定量的计算结果证明Langmuir式的混合吸附公式对于同系物的混合溶液之吸附也不能适用.对于单独存在时吸附量大的酸,公式的计算值偏低;对于单独存在时吸附量小的酸,公式的计算值偏高.以被顶物与顶替物的相应吸附量作图,皆得斜率为负的直线.因直线的负斜率皆随被顶物浓度的增加而增加,而且皆小子1,因此我们支持这种说法:在混合溶液中吸附量之减少主要是因为溶质甲顶替了表面上的溶剂,因而使溶质乙的吸附量降低.

The adsorption from binary mixtures of acetic, propionic and butyric acids has been studied systematically, by using sugar charcoal as adsorbent.In all these systems, the adsorption of any one acid is less than when it is present alone, but the well-known Langmuir type equation does not well represent the experimental data.Plotting of the corresponding (x/m) values gives straight lines with negative slopes which vary with the concentration of the acid displaced.The negative slopes of these straight lines are all less than unity, even though the adsorption of displaced acid is saturated.These facts agree with Ting and Fu's assumption, that the decrease of adsorption of individual acids is due to the displacement of the solvent, with subsequent shift of equilibrium, and not due to simple displacement.
