Eight constituents were isolated from the hydrocarbon-free fraction of the volatile oil of MAN-SHAN-HONG(Rhodendron dauricum L.) by silica-silver nitrate chromatography. On the basis of spectrometric analyses (UV、IR、NMR、NIS) and preparation of derivatives, six of them were identified as germaoron, menthol, juniper camphor,α-, β- and γ-eudesmols respectively. Menthol and α-, β-and γ-eudesmols have so far not been isolated from Rlaododenctron species. The characterization of two other components was hampered by scarcity of material.
