本文从对共轭体系分子的超加折射度的自由电子模型处理,得到一个经验参数σE,与Hückel的⊿m值及Hammett的σ值均为线性关系。

Since molecular refraction is the result of displacement of eleotron cloud of bonds in a molecule from their equilibrium position relative to the molecular skeleton under excitation of photon,it is reasonable to deduce that for a conjugated molecule,the exaltation of molecular refraction,⊿RE should be proportional to the free transition volume of the π-electrons.
