栀子花是中国民间抗生育植物,本文报导了从该粗提取物中分得多种黄酮,环烯醚萜、三萜酸和甾醇类化合物,其中-Cycloartane型新三萜酸-栀子花乙酸(gardenolic acid B)经药理试验证明对大鼠有抗早孕作用.本文还报导了它的结构研究.

The flowers of G. jasminoides are used in Chinese folk medicine for birth control. EtOAc extract of the flowers showed significant effects on terminating early pregnancy in rats. Flash column chromatog. separation of the crude extract gave several components among which 2 new cycloartane triterpenoids, namely gardenic acid and gardenolic acid B (I) were active components. The structure of I, m.p. 214-216癈, [a]D17 + 51.2, C30H46O5, were deduced by spectral analyses on the acid and the diacetate II.
