3-Alkylmercapto--4-methyl-N-(diethylaminoethyl)-anilines have been prepared from the corresponding 3-alkylmercapto-4-methyl-acetanilide, diethyl-aminoethyl chloride and powdemd potassium hydrogide in acetone solution, and then hydrolyzed directly in acidic medium. But the preparation of 3-allylmercapto-4-methyl-N- (diethylaminoethyl) aniline was unsucceseful by employing this method. The citrates of above anilines were used for screening tests of their chemotherapeutic activity toward animals infected with Schistosomiasis Japonica.
