The crude extract of the whole plant of Thalictrum faberi Ulbr.(Ranunculaceae) has shown some beneficial effects in clinical trials in Shanghai's Changning District Hospital for treatment of cancer of stomach,In this paper,we reported the study on the chemical constituents of the roots of the plant,Four compounds were isolated from its aqueous ethanol extract,By means of chemical and spectral analyses,they were identified as thalidasine (1),N-lesmethylthalidasine (2),berberine and β-sitosterol,respectively,
