Study on biologically active coordination compounds of metal ions III: Synthesis, characterization and antitumor activity of rare earths citrate complexes of 3,6-bis(dimethylamino)-dibenzopyriodonium

L3[LnQ2].nH2O (L+ = 3,6-bis(dimethylamino)benzopyriodonium; H3Q = citric acid; Ln = La-Nd, n = 5; Ln = Sm-Tb, n = 4; Ln = Dy-Lu, Y, n = 3) were prepared The complexes were characterized by x-ray powder diffraction, TG-DTA, molar conductances, IR, UV and 1H NMR. Inhibiting effect of La complex on incorporation of 3H-TdR into DNA of leukemia (L7712) cells in vitro was observed The results show that La complex is more effective than its precursors.
