Study on the interaction between polyamide and lanthanide ions

Temperature variable FT-IR spectroscopy was applied to study nylon 6- lanthanide salt systems. Introduction lanthanide ion into the nylon systems cause the following effects: 1) In the melting process, the amide band A in nylon-lanthanide salt systems exhibits red-shift rather than blue shift. 2) Significant variations on amide bands Ⅰ and Ⅱ are observed. Further studying on nylon lanthanide salt systems may be helpful in the development of lanthanide-polymer composite materials with high performance.
