Reaction of Fe3(CO)12 with heterocyclic thioamides (SLH) I (n = 1, 2), II (X = O, S), and III (X1 = O, NH) gave Fe3(CO)9(m3-S)2 and the open triangular iron carbonyl clusters Fe3(CO)8(m3-S)2(LH). The formula and structures of these clusters were characterized by elemental anal., IR, NMR, and mass spectra anal.
