Abstract

The preparation of trans-1,2-bis-2-[5-(p-ethylphenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazolyl)]cyclopropane (I) is described. Its UV, fluorescence excitation and emission spectra were studied. The spectral results and the MNDO calculation showed that the cyclopropane ring may transmit conjugation effect of the aromatic groups.
