A new empirical coefficient approach for calibration of interelemgnt effects in X-ray fluoresoeno.analysis is given. It is based on fitting in a quadratic curve with the relationship between the influence coefficient and the ocnoentration of matrix element. Both absorption and enhancement effects are corrected with the same expression in this calibration equation, where the influence coefficients are evaluated by the multivariate least-squares method and the sample concentrations are obtained by using an iterative procedure.Comparing with the familiar methods used frequently nowadays, such as the Laohanoe-Traill, the Claisse-Quintin and the Rasberry-Heinrioh calibration equations in font sample systems: Fe-Ni、Fe-Cr、Fe-Ni-Cr、PbO-ZrO2-TiO2-La2O3, we find that the accuracy obtained from our new approach appeara to be best over a wide concentration ranges of these samples.
