Abstract

X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (XPS) spectra of the inner shell and the valence band of certain crown ethers are investigated. The shake-up satellite peaks are attributed to intramol. charge transfer. The spectra positions are closely related to the substituents on the benzene ring.
