The synthesis and properties of α-perfluoroalkylpyrrole

Abstract

Under sulfinatodeiodination conditions perfluoroalkyl iodides reacted with pyrrole to give high yields of a-perfluoroalkyl pyrroles which are unstable at room temperature due to the ready hydrolysis of the a-CF2 group. On reaction with NaOMe/MeOH, the pyrroles were converted into the corresponding stable, a-dimethoxy derivatives and characterized.
