The synthesis of asymmetrically 3, 3-disubstituted methyl oxetanes

With 2, 2-bis(bromomethyl)propane-1, 3-diol as a starting material, six oxetane derivatives, 3-bromomethyl-3-hydroxymethyloxetane(2), 3- ethyloxymethyl-3-hydroxymethyl oxetane(3), 3-azidomethyl-3- hydroxymethyloxetane(4), 3-azidomethyl-3-nitratomethyl oxetane(5), 3- bromomethyl-3-nitratomethyloxetane(6) and 3-ethloxymethyl-3- nitratomethyl oxetane(7) were successfully prepared. Their structures were determined with FTIR ^1H NMR, MS and elemental analysis.
