CuBr-Catalyzed Coupling Reactions of Aryl Bromide withThiophenol and Thiol Promoted by Proline in Ionic Liquid

Abstract

In the presence of proline, the CuBr-catalyzed coupling reaction of thiols with bromoaromatics was conducted at 120 ℃ using ionic liquid [bmim]BF₄ as solvent. The experimental results showed that the reaction could be accomplished at shorter time with coupling products in high yields and ionic liquid-CuBr-proline recycled for three times before thorough treatment.
