Abstract

The stereospecific synthesis of the sex pheromone of oriental armyworm (cis-11-hexadecen-1-ol and its acetate) using lithium bis(Z-alkenyl)cuprate reagent was described. The purity of the (Z)-product is 97.8% as determine by GC anal.
