A new azacrown containing pyridine ring were synthesized. Condensation of 2,6-di (bromomethyl)-pyridine with two N-tosyl polyethylenepoly-amines (diethylenetriamine, triethylenetetraamine) disodium stlts, in anhydrous DMF at reflux temperature, gave two compounds containing pyridine ring: 3.6,9-tritosyl-3,6,9, 15-tetraaza-bicyclo (9.3.1)-pentadeca-1(15), 11, 13-triene (A) and 3,6,9, 12-tetratosyl-3,6,9 12, 18-pentaazabicyclo (12.3.1) octadeca-1 (18), 14, 16-triene (B). Treating (A) and (B) separately wity 30% HBr-CH3COOH solution produced 3,6,9, 15-tetraazabicyclo (9.3.1)pentadeca-1(15), 11, 13-triene(C) and 3,6,9,12,18-pentaazabicyclo(12.3.1) octadeca-1(18), 14, 16-triene(D) respectively. All these compounds were identified by elemental analysis and spectral analysis (IR, ^1H NMR). This method of condensation is simple and easy to operate.
