A series of new aroylselenoureas was synthesized by reaction of lead selenocyanate with aroyl chlorides in nonpolar solvents to afford very active aroyl isoselenocyanates, followed by the direct addition with some arylamines in one pot. The EPR study indicates that the activity of aroylselenoureas e.g., PhCONHC(Se)NHPh as a mol. oxygen anion radical cavenger is very significant.
