A simple synthetic route to selena-crown ethers is descrobed. eight selena-crown ether compounds 9~16 were synthesized by means of the condensation of bis(2-hydroxyethyl) selenide with diol ditosylate these compounds have not been reported ,with the exception of compoound 13.extraction abilities of part selena-crown compounds 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, and benzo-15-crown-5 toward ions Na+, K+, Ag+, Hg++, Pd++, Pt(IV) are determinned toward ions Ag+, Hg++, Pd++, Pt(IV), especially the last two ions ,the extraction abilitiles of these selena-crown ethers are higher than those of benzo-15-crown-5.on the contrary , the extraction abilities of these selena-crown ethers toward ions Na+, K+ are smaller than those of benzo-15-crown-5.
