Synthesis and Characterization of Conjugates ofPorphy-rin-triarylamine Linked by Styrene

Abstract

The compounds 4-[4-(N,N-diphenylamino)styryl]benzaldehyde, 4-[4-(N,N-di-p-tolylamino)- styryl]benzaldehyde and 4-[4-(N,N-di-4-methoxyphenylamino)styryl]benzaldehyde were obtained by a Wit-tig-Horner reaction of 4-diarylaminobenzaldehyde with diethyl 4-(diethoxymethyl)benzylphosphonate, then a series of new porphyrin-triarylamine conjugates linked by styrene bridges were synthesized by refluxing compounds 4 and pyrrole in propionic acid and characterized by ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, MS and UV-vis techniques.
