Abstract

3-Methyl-4-arylmethylene-isoxazol-5(4H)-ones were synthesized by the convenient three com-ponent condensation reactions of ethyl acetoacetate, hydroxylamine hydrochloride and aromatic aldehydes in the presence of pyridine. The products were identified by MS, ¹H NMR and IR spectra.
