A model for the kinetics of chemiluminescence in the Ru(bipy) ~3^2^+/Ru(phen)~3^2^+-C~2O~4^2^--Ce~Ⅳ system has been established according to the mechanism of the reactions. It was used not only to describe the kinetics of chemiluminescence, but also to calculate the rate constants for rise (r) and decay (f) of the time-dependent chemiluminescence profile, the maximal intensity (I~m~a~x) and the time required to reach maximal intensity (t~m~a~x). The maximal intensity and the area under the I-t curve can be used for the quantitative analysis.
