Synthesis and crystal structure of a novel one-dimensional cyano- bridged chain complex [Sm(DMA)~2(H~2O)~4Fe(CN)~6·5H~2O]~n

Using K~3Fe(CN)~6, N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMA) and Sm(NO~3)~3·6H~2O, the title complex [Sm(DMA)~2(H~2O)~4Fe(CN)~6·5H~2O]~n has been synthesized and characterized with elemental analysis, IR spectra and X-ray crystal structure. The complex crystallizes in the monoclinic P2~1/c space group, with lattice parameters a=1.02744(4) nm, b=1.6732 (2) nm, c=1.7323(2) nm, β=97.385(3)°, Z=4, R~1=0.0412.
