A chemically bonded disperant was prepared by reaction of a titanium alkoxide with a long -chin carboxylic acid, and its dispersion tn the PZN－PZT slurry was investigated through sediment test and FT-IR technique. The results show that the dispersant exhibited a good dispersion in PZN－PZT slury. The dispersant concentration required to produce stable dispersions in nonaqueous media corresponded to the monomolecular layer coverage noto the PZN－PZT particle surface. The dispersant adsorbed firmly onto the PZN－PZT particles by a strongly chemical bond formed through reaction of alkoxy groups on the dispersant molecule with surface hydroxyl of the PZN－PZT powder.
