A New Method for Preparing Nannsized γ-MnO2--Oxido-reduction Method under Ultrasonic Irradiation

Using KMnO4 and MnSO4 as raw materials, two kinds of manganese oxides were prepared by oxido-reduction method under ultrasonic radiation and normal precipitation method, respectively.XRD, ICP, XPS, TEM, FT-IR and BET surface area measurement techniques were used to investigate the properties of the products.The results show that ultrasonic radiation has a great impact on reaction system, and it was found that the γ-MnO2 powder synthesized under ultrasonic radiation has an average diameter of 10 nm with sphere-shape and good dispersity, and the precipitation product obtained from normal oxidation-reduction reaction is KMn8O16, in which K+ exists in lattice of KMn8O16 and can not be removed by washing.
