A new kind of mesoporous spherical HA nanoparticles which formed by the curling of the sheet-like subunit was obtained by supported liquid membrane (SLM) combining with small organic molecules method, in which SLM controlled the transportation of the ions between the two separated phases, and the small organic molecules cooperated with the SLM to induce the nanocrystals to combine and reunite to form noncompacted superstructure. The results of TEM, XRD and BET showed that the average pore diameter of the sample obtained was 17.5 nm. The cell toxic experiment showed that the survival ratio of different cell concentration was more than 80% and the cell toxicity of pure material was A1, which means the HA obtained has nice biocompatibility. The FT-IR and UV tests demonstrated that the material could enwrap podophyllotoxin efficiently. The average drug loading was 12.9%, and entrapment efficiency was 65.5%. In conclusion, this new kind of material has potential applications on immobilization of enzyme, protein macromolecular adsorption, catalytic reaction, drug store, and so on.
