Synthesis of Bipolar-Transporting Materials Containing Carbazole and Aryl Oxadiazole Groups Bridged with 1,2-Ethylene and Their Optoelectronic Properties

Three bipolar-transporting materials containing carbazole and aryl oxadiazole groups bridged with 1,2-ethylene were synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and elemental analysis. Their UV-Vis absorption and photoluminescent properties, as well as their electrochemical properties and thermal stability were also studied. The results show that this class of bipolar-transporting materials displayed UV-Vis absorption and photoluminescent properties of both carbazole and aryl oxadiazole groups, and their thermal decomposing temperatures are over 340 ℃. Compared with those bipolar-transporting materials containing carbazole and aryl oxadiazole groups connected with conjugated groups, these bipolar-trans- porting materials here presented high HOMO and LUMO energy levels and thermal stability.
