It was found that immobilization of the complexes formed by 8-hydroxy-7-iodo-5-quinolinsulfonic acid (Ferron) and 8-hydroxy-5-quinolinesulfonic acid with some metal iones on strongly anion exchange resin can lead the phosphor to have room temperature phosphorescence in aqueous solution The characteristics of the RTP has been studied. Based on the phenomena, the RTP optosensor for Al3+, Ga3+, In3+, Zr4+ and Hf4+ has been prepared It was shown that the RTP stabilized by ion exchange resin is insensitive to moisture, has excellent selectivity and is suitable to prepare a new type of metal ions optosensor.
